April 12, 2007 Dear Friends of Officer Brian S. Gregg: The Zebra-Striped Whale Foundation (ZSWF) is a charitable, non-profit organization (Federal Tax ID/EIN: 20-8538538) whose philanthropic mission is to serve the community through the art of children’s picture book publishing. ZSWF’s first fundraising project is a beautifully illustrated children’s picture book, entitled Cop Buddy. In memory of Brian S. Gregg, Cop Buddy has been made possible by community volunteers who so graciously and generously donated their time, talents, enthusiasm, and expertise. Cop Buddy is based on a true story about little Liam Hannon of Newtown Borough—written by his mom, Jennifer Beagle Hannon. Illustrated by talented local artist, Barbara Dove Kinnon, Cop Buddy is a library-quality hardcover children’s picture book with dust jacket, sized 11” x 81/2”. A limited edition of 4,000 copies will be published in late summer to coordinate with Officer Gregg’s second anniversary of death in September 2007. The title will be available for sale through local schools, select retailers, bookstores, banks, and community affiliations. The retail price is $18.00. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Brian S. Gregg Fund, established at The First National Bank and Trust Company of Newtown, 40 S. State Street, in Newtown Borough. At this time, we are seeking contributions to offset printing, binding, and freight charges associated with the production of Cop Buddy. Checks are payable to the Zebra Striped Whale Foundation—held at The First National Bank and Trust Company of Newtown. Donations earned in excess of required Cop Buddy–related expenditures will be channeled directly to the Brian S. Gregg Fund. Cop Buddy is a delightful story that will be enjoyed by young readers and their families throughout Newtown … Bucks County … and beyond! This quality children’s picture book is made possible by the generosity of people like you. Thanks to your heartfelt support, Brian S. Gregg—and his service to Newtown Borough—will never be forgotten! Sincerely, Cop Buddy Core Volunteer Committee

Gregg Fund—established at The First National Bank and Trust Company of Newtown in Newtown Borough Summary: Everyone was astonished when Officer Gregg appeared at Grandma’s front door! Liam was sitting on the floor playing with Grandma’s push-button telephone. Sure enough, he had dialed 911, and left the phone off the hook! Officer Gregg was happy that no one was hurt. Grandma whispered to Liam, “That’s your Cop Buddy!” From that day forward, Liam kept close watch of his Cop Buddy. Every time Liam spotted a police car in the lot across from Grandma’s house, he asked, “Why is my Cop Buddy sitting there? Grandma explained, “Your Cop Buddy is trying to catch people who are driving too fast.” And if Cop Buddy drove past Grandma’s house, and saw Liam playing outside, he stopped to spin his red flashing lights just for him. When it was time for Halloween, Grandma helped Liam dress in his handsome police uniform—complete with hat, badge, hand-cuffs, nightstick and walkie-talkie. “Wow,” Grandma said, “You look a lot like Officer Gregg!” With the widest grin ever, he roared, “When I get big, I want to be a brave and strong Police Officer … just like my Cop Buddy!”
